America’s working class has long been the backbone of the nation, yet it often finds itself at the center of political promises that go unfulfilled. Faces of #FAFO explores the disillusionment of individuals who voted for Donald Trump in 2024, only to discover the unsettling realities of his policies after their choice had already been made. Through intimate portraits, this series provokes critical thought about the real-life impact of policies — like dismantling the DOE, gutting veteran health benefits, cutting social security and deporting mixed-status families. These aren’t abstract ideas; they are the realities that will reshape the lives of those who once believed they were casting votes for their own betterment.
Faces of #FAFO invites viewers to sit with the discomfort of seeing hope turn to regret. It asks challenging questions: What drives people to vote against their own interests? How do policies affect the very people they claim to protect?
This work is not about ridicule or shame; it is about empathy and understanding. By humanizing the fallout of political decisions, Faces of #FAFO seeks to spark deeper conversations about the intersection of identity, class and power in America. After all, when we fail to critically engage with the systems that govern us, we risk repeating the cycle — failing, finding out and forever wondering what might have been.
